Mercy is the 2012 John Q. Hammons Founder Award Recipient. As part of an integrated health system with more than 500 physicians and 10,000 co-workers, Mercy has been caring for the people of the Ozarks since 1891. Mercy is home to the region's only Level I Trauma Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the region's only burn unit and a Children's Hospital. As a leader in Sports Medicine, Mercy has provided comprehensive programs and services for athletes of all ages in Southwest Missouri for more than 20 years and serves as the official sports medicine provider for Missouri State University and the Springfield Cardinals. The team works to improve athletic performance or to get athletes back in the game following an injury.
