One of baseball's all-time superstars, Lou Brock starred for 19 years in the big leagues.  Of the 18,000 players to play Major League Baseball, Brock is the only player to record more than 3,000 hits and steal more than 900 bases in a career.  He continues to hold the National League's all-time stolen base record with 938, including a National League record of 118 thefts in 1974.  He also established a Major League record with 12 seasons of 50 or more steals from 1965 to 1976 and led the league in steals 8 times.  He is the first player to steal at least 50 bases and hit 20 homers in the same season.

In 1985, Brock was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.  His uniform, #20, has been retired by the Cardinals.
